St Lucia Challenge autumn 2007 - Pool Pairs

Congratulations to Kevin Wrake and Ayaz Ali from Ofsted who effectively booked the last CSSC seats on the plane to St Lucia by winning the Pool Pairs competition.

On 21 November, Rileys IQ Pool Hall in Victoria played host to the tournament, and sixteen pairs turned up, cues in hand, ready to battle it out to win the ultimate prize.

After some very close opening group matches, the four group winners met in the two semi-finals, and eventually Wrake and Ali won through to meet their Ofsted colleagues, Stuart Griffiths and Stuart Meiklejohn, in the final.

The final was held on 6 December at Chadwick St, and it turned out to be a very close affair.  With the scores level at 3-3, and only the black ball left on the table, Wrake and Ali held their nerve and beat their rivals by the slenderest of margins.
