Summer Sports Day 17 July 2004 - Chiswick Sports Ground
Report
After a damp start, including thunder & some heavy rain, when
setting up on the day, the CSSC London Summer Sports Day at Chiswick
was blessed with sunshine at the start & throughout the day.
The ice cream van man had a smile on his face.
Around 230 adults & about 60 kids turned up to support the
day and enjoyed the fantastic atmosphere.
All the events ran smoothly and the winners of the following:-
- Mixed Rounders
- Mixed Netball
- Mixed Volleyball
- Women’s soccer
- Men’s Veterans soccer
- Tennis doubles
- Petanque pairs
- Three mile run
are looking forward to their discounted trip to Barbados in 2005.
(See Results below)
In addition, events included face painting, pony rides, a bouncy
castle, Giant Jenga & Connect 4, the Punch & Judy Show,
target golf, a space hopper race for the children + Salsa Dancing & the ‘Battle
of the Bands’
Many people registered at the last moment to take part in the
CSSC London Three-Mile Charity Fun Run/Walk to support the 'Help
a London Child Charity'
Our thanks go to everyone who volunteered their time including
the organisers on the day, the DAs who helped us to promote the
events within their departments, the members of the London Management
Board, Deirdre for the catering, the ground & bar staff
at Chiswick, St Johns Ambulance & all those providing the entertainment.
The day’s proceedings were rounded off with the excellent ‘Battle
of the Bands’
See you again next year!
