Persian Arts Exhibition at British Museum Sat 7th Jan 2006
CSSC London’s newly formed Arts Appreciation group has completed
its second event/trip.
Organising a substantial reduction to The British
Museum’s
much vaunted “Forgotten Empire the world of Ancient Persia” exhibition,
CSSC London members and their guests had a chance to see exhibits
from the British Museum's own collection, the Louvre, and many
wonderful exhibits from the National Museum of Iran - none of which
had been displayed abroad before.
Among the highlights was
the magnificently
decorative gold and glass jewellery displays, a CGI recreation
of Persepolis and a close look at the Cyrus Cylinder.
Many thanks go to our arts organiser, Yael Steinzeiger, on a superbly
