Changes at Chiswick - update 2 September 2010
The Civil Service Sports Council and Kings House School are pleased to announce that the operation of the Civil Service Sports Ground at Dukes Meadows transferred to the School on 31 August 2010.
Under the terms of the agreement, CSSC teams and Departmental Associations will have preferential booking rights, outside the School's own usage requirements for the pitches, at predetermined charges, similar to those which the CSSC expected to charge in future years. Also, the provision of social facilities is being reviewed.
CSSC, through its ROKO Health Club joint venture company, remains committed to the provision of the new family friendly health club. CSSC and Kings House School have agreed draft plans for the new health club which include provision of new changing and social facilities, and additional floodlit tennis courts which can be used by the School and those booking activities at the ground.
Background
CSSC and Kings House School announced on 12 April 2010 that they have reached agreement to transfer the operation of the Civil Service Sports Ground at Dukes Meadows to the School.
Following a review of civil service usage of Chiswick, and the costs involved with the maintenance of the club and ground, CSSC announced on 3 March 2009 that it would be partially closing the facilities with effect from 14 September 2009.
The changes were intended to allow the majority of usage of Chiswick by CSSC members to continue. They involve closure of the clubhouse and bowling green, and a reduction in grass tennis courts and cricket pitches. The changing rooms would remain in use, and new facilities for light snacks and non-alcoholic drinks would be provided.
