Two thousand years of history. 107 churches, monasteries, abbeys. The coffee houses where so many of the great City institutions began - Lloyds, The Stock Exchange.
The monument commemorating the Great Fire, the narrow lanes where plague spread so easily. And in amongst the packed overhanging wooden houses the taverns...
We drink in an old wine house which escaped the Fire, we visit an old Leadenhall Market pub and end at one of the most famous pubs in London, commemorating a gentleman who, jilted on his wedding day, never again, washed nor cleaned his house.
There are the dead cats, the unrecognisable blackened objects. Is that a bat? A rat?
